COMMEMORATING LACHIE MACLEOD
It is the sad moment of paying tribute of respect to late Lachie Macleod.
He was the generous person who introduced palliative home care in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He found a proper organization, he facilitated the training for the staff and raised funds for many years to make the functioning of palliative home care possible. Thanks to him many members of Diakonia staff had the possibility to hospitate in Scotland and training courses were organized for them in Cluj-Napoca under the guidance of specialists from Scotland. On these occasions he motivated, encouraged and coordinated our staff and also helped to organize palliative care awareness sensitization campaigns and fundraising events in Cluj-Napoca.
He was devoted to the cause of palliative care. It was well-known that he firmly served palliative care in his country by fundraising, printing newletters and organizing prayer evenings for palliative patients.
It was an honour to have known him and to be his co-workers.
May God give you peace, Lachie Macleod!
